I first received my Giving Key as a Christmas gift from my grandma. I loved the message behind the key, and I was excited to see what story I would create with it.
The word COURAGE helped me a lot because I am a follower of Jesus Christ, and sometimes it's a little nerve-racking to share a testimony or to shine your light to a non-believer. My dad was actually one of those people that I struggled to share my light with. Every time I felt like I should talk to him or somebody else about the Lord, I knew a needed a little bit of COURAGE. God is the one who blessed me with this COURAGE, but the key served as a sweet reminder of what God had blessed me with. Finally, my dad got saved, and this showed that my constant reminder of COURAGE surely was something I needed.
I kept my necklace for a while longer until a girl at my church started struggling with something in her life. She talked about how neither of her parents were saved, she just lost her job as well as her boyfriend, and she was frankly feeling extremely discouraged. I prayed for her and continue to do so, and I felt as if God was leading me to do something for her. Therefore, I pulled her aside one day and told her that there is nothing in life that Jesus and a little bit of COURAGE couldn't get her through, so I gave her my key and told her to persevere and remain faithful and courageous through the tough times.
She still needs prayers, but I know that a little bit of COURAGE can go a long way!
