I have
Gifted a Giving Key
With the word
FEARLESS
My Story
I have been riding horses for over 30 years, when back in 2011, my beautiful horse, Serage crossed the rainbow bridge. My heart was broken and I was in search of a new horse of my own. I bought a horse that I had no business buying. She was too young and made it her mission to get rid of me. I spent a lot of time with her, but we were no match.
After several wrecks, one which tore my acl and broke a bone, I knew it was time to find her the right home, which I did. I developed an incredible fear of riding after that year. In fact, before I’d head out to the pasture to get my next new horse, I drank a shot of whiskey with a milk chaser! Liquid Courage. Well that horse didn’t work out either. In 2015, after the death of my partner, I rescued 2 neglected horses, one which I kept, Hope, and the other went to a dear friend. I hired a trainer/instructor to help me with Hope.
When it came time for me to start riding her, I broke down in the arena in tears and a panic of fear. I was terrified of the horse running off with me and having another wreck. When I calmed down, my instructor told me that she wasn’t concerned of my fear, but she was very concerned as to what my fear would do to my young horse! Well that hit home. In the meantime, my dear friend, Nancy, gave me the Giving Key “FEARLESS”.
I have kept it with me for 4 years now. I truly believe the intention of the key helped me become a better, more confident rider, and a partner with my beautiful horse, Hope. I am now passing the key to a friend who has lost confidence in her riding and believe that the intention of being fearless will help her through this difficult time. Peace and wellness to all.
