Faith During Uncertainty

I received my Faith Giving Key Necklace the day before the San Jose Women's March. It was wonderful timing, as I was in great need of faith since it was the day of the inauguration and unknown political changes.

My friend and I proudly served as Peace Ambassadors to help the day run smoothly. We received hours of training on how to help deescalate any disturbances, but the march was so peaceful that we ended up just doing crowd control along with the local police department. I wore my Giving Key proudly during the march, at one point taking a photo with my friend where she held up her Peace Ambassador lanyard and I held up the key.

The whole day, tears of joy welled up in my eyes, as I saw friends who attended, the beautiful signs and spirits of those who marched. I enjoyed seeing both genders, as well as people who marched alone or with friends and families, all coming together for one common cause.

A few days after the march, I realized while the key had been so meaningful to me, it was time to pass it on. I originally had a friend in mind to pass it on to, however, she said while she would be honored to receive it next, her friend (an acquaintance of mine) needed the key and faith more than she did. I found out that my acquaintance had just learned that her IVF attempt had not worked. My friend was right, this woman needed the key, and now she is the recipient of it. I hope it helps her as she continues her journey to be a mom.
